BIO
Dirt Road Souls are a Boston-based roots-rock trio built on grit, groove, and heart. Balancing back-porch storytelling with the sweat and swagger of classic rock ’n’ roll, they channel the raw, human pulse of American music into songs about redemption, love, and the long way home.
Their 2026 Josie Award nominated new album, '(The Life and Times of) Johnny Moonshine', is a modern roots-rock opera following an anti-hero through the backroads of struggle and salvation. Told across 12 songs, it’s a cinematic story of hope, vice, and redemption — set to the sound of vintage guitars, upright bass thump, and the tight pocket of a three-piece that plays like one heart. With a reputation for soulful, energetic live performances, Dirt Road Souls bridge the space between rock revival and raw Americana storytelling, turning lived experience into song.
